Thermofiber — What Is It?
Modern thermofiber products are easy to confuse with natural hair at first glance.
The industry produces artificial fibers that look and even feel practically identical to living hair — thermofiber is one of them.
It is a new generation material created specifically for wigs, hair weaves, hair toppers, and hairpieces.
What is made from it
Thermofiber looks like healthy, well-groomed, and bouncy hair, which is why a wide range of products are made from it.
The Main Advantage — Heat Resistance
Unlike regular old-generation kanekalon, which melts from the slightest heat, thermofiber typically withstands temperatures up to 180–200 °C. Thanks to this, the strands can be straightened with a flat iron, curled with a curling wand, or set with hot rollers — after cooling, the shape holds, and if desired, the hairstyle can be easily changed by reheating.
It should be styled carefully and not too often. If the permissible temperature is not indicated on the product label, start with low settings and try it on a small strand at the bottom of the product first.
Appearance and Texture
No unnatural "doll-like" effect — looks natural both during the day and under artificial light.
The strands are pleasant to the touch, soft, and easy to style.
The straight or wavy shape is maintained even after prolonged wear, without excessive frizz.
Styling and Restoration
Test on a small strand at the bottom of the product if the temperature is not indicated on the label.
Refresh the strands from time to time with a hair straightener.
Use a curling iron on low temperatures for curls.
You will need products specifically formulated for thermofiber care.
Practicality in Daily Wear
Thermofiber is not afraid of humidity, fog, or rain — unlike natural hair, the hairstyle will not get frizzy or lose its shape. And the products themselves are usually lighter than natural strands of the same length, making them comfortable to wear even all day.
Lifespan and Limitations
With proper delicate care — special shampoos for synthetic hair, careful brushing — the product retains its original appearance for a long time. But there are nuances: thermofiber cannot be dyed with ordinary hair dyes because it does not absorb pigment, and it cannot be restored after severe overheating if the permissible flat iron temperature is exceeded.
Thermofiber is an affordable solution for those who value aesthetics, ease of care, and the ability to change their look without harming their own hair. You can always get thermofiber care products and advice on how to use them properly at the Korol Natali salon.
