This is the price, according to the owner of the wig workshop Natalia Korol, of a luxurious braid braided into a kind of crown of the Ukrainian Prime Minister. True, the master of artificial hair admits that he did not have to accept orders from Lady Yu. Although she assures that among her clients there are high-ranking Ukrainian officials and show business stars. Is it true that Natalya refused to name the names of celebrities? It is unlikely that anyone will want to inform their neighbors that they are wearing a wig, says the master. Unfortunately, we cannot boast about the big names of our clients.
The King does not advise taking a closer look at the heads of deputies in order to bring them to clean water: it will be almost impossible to distinguish a good wig from ordinary hair.

Hairstyle for the whole world

But even if you don’t imitate famous politicians, this does not mean that an artificial hairstyle will cost the customer less. The cheapest short-haired wig will cost no less than a semblance of the prime minister's.

The cost of a domestically produced wig ranges from 2 to 25 thousand hryvnia. Manufacturers justify this pricing policy by the high cost of hair. We use only Slavic hair, says Natalya. She claims that her wigs are not the most expensive in the world: In America, wigs made from Slavic hair cost from 4 thousand dollars.

Ukrainian wigs are valued not only in Ukraine. The geography of Natalia’s customers clearly confirms this theory. I only didn’t have clients from Africa and New Zealand, says the master. People often come to us from Australia, Chuvashia, countries of the European Union, Belarus and America.

Long, thick hair costs the same as a week-long family trip to exotic destinations. Slavic hair costs up to 5 thousand dollars per kilogram, says the King. At the same time, Chinese hair can cost even less than a thousand dollars. Chinese hair grows very quickly, there is a lot of it and it is cheap, explains Natalya.

Despite the high interest in hairstyles made from other people's hair among politicians and show business stars, Natalya prepares most of the wigs for people with hair growth disorders. About 90% of clients come with some kind of problem, says the hairdresser. Often referred after chemotherapy and burns. More than half of Natalia’s clients are women, another third are men, and every tenth wig wearer is a child.

    A wig is a labor-intensive task.

Making a wig is a very labor-intensive task: it takes a month of work to make just the parietal part, and at least a month and a half to make a whole wig. A person has about 80 thousand hairs on his head. Can you imagine how much time it takes to collect so much, says the King. For such work, she has very clear and concise parameters for selecting young women with good eyesight.

In Natalia's workshop, each specialist makes his own part of the wig. We have a professional in making the crown, side part, and cap, says the owner of the salon. Only Natalya has complete information about the making of the wig.

The hairdresser keeps the wig production technology in the strictest confidence. In order to turn a pile of hair into a real hairstyle, you need to master the appropriate technologies, Natalya is sure.

She believes that it is simply impossible to study wig making techniques in master classes. It can only be adopted from another master or developed independently, says the owner of the workshop.
